Greece 2.0

GREECE 2.0 aims to mobilize Greece total investment resources of 57 billion euros over the next six years, for the national plan after the pandemic for the reconstruction of network industries, the reform of public services, the attraction of investments, the strengthening of exports and institutional reform. The two pillars that directly concern the business world of Greece and require its own initiatives, interventions and investments are the green and the digital transition.

Greece's recovery and resilience plan effectively supports the green transition. The contribution of the Greek project to the green transition amounts to 40% of its total credits, amounting to 10.4 billion euros. This percentage exceeds the 37% threshold required by the RRF (Recovery and Resilience Facility) regulation. Greece lags significantly behind in the integration of Renewable Energy Sources in the national energy production, but also in the state-of-the-art technologies, which are mentioned in its distribution networks. The adaptation of companies to the new era will act as a catalyst for the upgrading of infrastructure in both production and distribution of energy.

Greece's recovery and resilience plan effectively contributes to the digital transition. The contribution of the Greek project to the digital transition amounts to 2.1 billion Euros and it is estimated that most of this amount will be allocated through the NSRF program 2021-2027. It is worth noting that in surveys among executives involved in business decision-making, the majority of them consider the digital transition as their priority, but without giving it an urgent character.
